Good morning everyone, I’m back to poke my head in for a minute. Joe Cioffi has been doing a wonderful job filling in while I’m out due to work responsibilities and scheduling conflicts.
We saw a big cool-off earlier this week after some gusty thunderstorms, and now we start the modification process today. We’re still on the cool side, but we get a nice boost tomorrow.
For Today, expect abundant sunshine, much lighter winds, and temps in the upper 40’s to near 50. Average temps for this time of year in NYC range in the low 50’s, so we are just slightly below average and a big improvement from yesterday.
The clouds to our north represent a warmer airmass heading in for tomorrow. We’ll hold onto that sunshine, and have highs in the 55-60 range for a beautiful day.
Your weekend is looking very nice, but Saturday will be the nicer of the two with extra sunshine. Expect more 55-60 degree weather for Saturday under partly cloudy skies, then clouds increase on Sunday. That’ll help hold the temps down a bit and in the mid 50’s, but we remain dry.
First chance of rain will be late Sunday night into Monday with a few scattered showers. 55-60 degree temps may hold on for Monday, but we’ll dip back into the 45-50 range early and mid next week. For this time of year, that puts us back to near-average.
Please note that with regards to any tropical storms or hurricanes, should a storm be threatening, please consult your local National Weather Service office or your local government officials about what action you should be taking to protect life and property.
