BEAUTIFUL NYC WEATHER ARRIVES HOT HUMID WEEK AHEAD

Good morning everyone. Beautiful weather arrives in the New York City area today from west to east as we gear up for another hot block ahead. Questions remain about Labor Day Weekend and we haven’t forgotten about Hawaii. For more on Hurricane Lane if you missed it, you can click here to see yesterday’s statement on what Hawaii should expect. As of now and sadly, the forecast is holding.

For today in NYC, clouds give way to sunny skies and comfortable conditions. Look for low 80’s and breezy, dry conditions. Tomorrow and Saturday, sunny skies and low 80’s dominate, as well as relatively low humidity. However, things begin to change slowly on Sunday.

EASTERN SATELLITE

On Sunday, sunny skies and low to mid 80’s remain, but we begin to notch up the humidity as we introduce more tropical air into the area. Monday we return to mid-summer mode, with highs near 90 and muggy conditions. This wants continue all the way till at least Thursday, so expect hazy, hot, and humid conditions, with near 90 to low 90 temps through late week.

With 1948 and 1953 being intense late summers, I’m not thinking record high temps; but it’ll be hot for late August regardless. Once we approach Labor Day, questions remain as to how it’ll pan out.

REGIONAL RADAR

As of now, maritime air wants to push back for Friday, but not in full force. If the back-door front wins out, look for a seasonably warm and mostly cloudy Friday, with humid conditions sticking around. It’s possible that the hot air wins out again for Saturday as we go back and forth over that holiday period.

So for your Labor Day Weekend, we could be looking at a mild flip-flop type block temp-wise from Friday to Monday; then our entry into the first week of school/end of beach season has the potential to be relatively very warm to hot if things pan out.
