BRIGHT SUNSHINE BLOCK PRECEDES MARITIME TROPICAL PUSH – Good morning everyone. We have a great 3 day block of sunshine ahead for the NYC area, so take advantage of all if it’s wonders before things get a little sloppy again for the second half of Memorial Day Weekend.

Today, a northerly breeze and bright sunshine will be the theme of the day. Low humidity will make our 80 degree day feel like mid 70’s in most parts. Sun continues tomorrow as we turn the wind around to the west/southwest. This will increase the heat, but we should have 1 more day of relatively low humidity; highs in the mid 80’s, but we could see some upper 80’s in the more notoriously warmer spots.

For Saturday, we increase the temps a little more, but we also notch up the humidity. Look for hot and humid conditions throughout the area, highs near 90 and cooler at the shore (80-85). We’ll also have the chance for a scattered storm from an approaching backdoor cold front which will reintroduce maritime air into the area for Sunday and Monday.

As this front drapes down, it’ll interact with tropical moisture coming in from the south. This will enhance the front a bit and give us mostly to fully cloudy skies both Sunday and Monday. Sunday looks to have the best chance of rain and highs in the low to mid 70’s. Then Monday we cool off into the upper 60’s to low 70’s and a slightly smaller chance of rain. Neither day will be a rainout, but your best days for outdoor activities will be tomorrow and Saturday.
