Nestor Brings Rainy Afternoon

Good morning everyone. If you’re waking up early and see blue skies developing as the sun rises, it wouldn’t seem like today is going to end on a rainy note, but it is thanks to Nestor. The remnant low from Tropical Storm Nestor will be scooting to our south, and it looks as if the rain shield gets a little further north than pervious expected. This doesn’t change the forecast for us, but rain will be spreading further inland essentially.

SATELLITE

Clouds will begin to increase as the morning goes on with Nestor heading up from the southwest. Light rain should begin between 3 and 5pm, then be with us until around 10pm and 12am. We could see a few patches of heavier rain, but total amounts should be on the light side. No flooding issues today with only 1/2″ of rain at worst, but the immediate shoreline could get a little breezy tonight. That’s about it and we begin to clear out overnight.

REGIONAL RADAR

Look for a steady, northerly flow tomorrow with sunshine and highs in the mid 60’s; then we increase the clouds again for yet another system coming in on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, a cold front swings by with most of the energy going north. However, we’ll have to watch closely to see if any waves develop along to the front to enhance the precipitation. Expect the chance of rain by late morning, highs in the mid 60’s again.

LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY

Any remaining moisture is gone by Wednesday morning, then partial clearing will ensue. We’ll have highs in the mid 60’s; then a breeze will develop for Thursday with full sunshine and mid to upper 60’s possible.
