NYC Cold to Frigid Conditions Continue
Good evening everyone. Very cold, cold, and frigid conditions continue to cycle through as winter digs its claws it much of the Nation east of the Mississippi. This week will be no different, with temperatures looking like they want to modify, but drop again next weekend.
SATELLITE
Overnight tonight, temperatures plunge back into the upper single digits to low teens. Blustery conditions will keep things dangerous as wind chill values dip into the -5 range.
WEATHER RADAR
We modify a bit into the upper 20’s/low 30’s tomorrow; but lows still drop into the low teens with the help of the snowpack. We’ll do it again on Tuesday, then lows 15-20 for a more “balmy” feel. Things start to get a little cold on Wednesday as we struggle to hit 30; then we are back in the 8-12 degree range overnight. Thursday and Friday are no better, but Friday adds the prospect of some scattered snow showers/snow squalls with the next arctic blast coming.
By Saturday, highs will struggle in the 15-20 degree range, and some of our low temps could be the coldest of the season so far. Look for lows in the 0-5 range, then back to 15-20 for Sunday. I don’t much help Sunday night; slipping back to 0-5 overnight and some negative temps N&W of NYC.
