Good morning everyone, hopefully everyone had a nice St. Patrick’s Day yesterday. We’re looking sunny and dry conditions the next few days in the NYC area; a rarity these past few months. Our next shot of rain comes in for Thursday, and if everything times out perfectly, we could have a gorgeous Sunday on our hands.
Things will be cool today, but at least it’ll be sunny and dry. That slight flurry chance has diminished even more, and you have a better chance of seeing Bigfoot. So it could still happen in spots, but nobody is going to believe you saw it. Highs today in the mid 40’s.
Mid 40’s and light winds continue tomorrow, and that’s our last cool day for the time being as things modify fairly well for Wednesday.
We remain dry and sunny on Wednesday, and we also keep the light winds around. Highs in the low to mid 50’s. Clouds will slowly increase Wednesday night into Thursday morning with the approach of our next system, but that system is look very disorganized; with most of the weak energy going well north and west.
Look for the slight chance of some showers Thursday and highs again in the low to mid 50’s.
Thursday’s system represents some cooler air coming in temporarily, but nothing extreme. In fact, the cool air could be delayed as we go for low 50’s once more on Friday, but with breezy conditions, then work that cooler air in for Saturday.
I’d say for now, a cool Saturday is a decent bet, with upper 40’s to near 50 possible. We remain dry even though the system parade continues; they’re just drying out/falling apart as they get here. Then, another slow-moving and weak system moving across the Country could be responsible for some milder air working in on Sunday.
IF the maritime air doesn’t fight back or pulls away on time, we could be looking at a pretty grand Sunday, with temps in the 60’s possible. As of this moment, it’s too early to tell, but the ingredients are there. Let’s see if everything comes together.
Please note that with regards to any tropical storms or hurricanes, should a storm be threatening, please consult your local National Weather Service office or your local government officials about what action you should be taking to protect life and property.
