Good morning everyone. Our deep-summer pattern continues today as some juicy air will be responsible for scattered, slow-moving PM storms. Flood watches range southeast and central NY, all the way down into Virginia for the prospect of flooding due to scattered storms remaining over areas for a prolonged amount of time. After today, we go hotter with temps peaking on Friday in the mid 90’s before “cooling off” back into the upper 80’s next weekend.
Look for a mix of sun and clouds today with highs in the mid to upper 80’s. Scattered storms this afternoon and evening will be strong to severe in nature, and may cause localized flooding. Storms will be more widely scattered tomorrow with highs near 90.
Wednesday and Thursday look pretty much the same, with near 90/low 90 temps and some scattered PM storms possible. Friday is the hottest of the bunch, with mid 90’s and the chance of a thunderstorms.
Your weekend is looking like a typical mid-July one, with upper r80’s each day and the chance of a thunderstorm.
Please note that with regards to any severe weather, tropical storms, or hurricanes, should a storm be threatening, please consult your local National Weather Service office or your local government officials about what action you should be taking to protect life and property.
