NYC Heavy Rain With Localized Flooding Possible

Good morning everyone and happy Tuesday. We have some relief on the way for those who don’t like the humidity, but remnants of TS Claudette is still helping enhance our incoming front in an indirect way. That’ll translate into some heavy rain and thunder, especially this afternoon as that front slams into some tropical air Claudette left behind. After that, we are golden till Saturday when very warm temps and humidity return.

Morning sunshine will give way to afternoon clouds, then we’ll have a pretty juicy line of heavy rain with embedded rumbles of thunder move through. They’ll be tropical in nature, so expect some big raindrops on the menu, which may cause some localized flooding. Highs today will be a humid mid to upper 70’s, then we drop into the 50’s by evening. Some areas away from the city in upstate NY may see some upper 40’s.

WEATHER RADAR

Tomorrow and Thursday we are sunny, dry, and comfortable. Expect highs in the upper 70’s to near 80, with no prospect of rain whatsoever. Humidity will increase slightly on Friday, but we remain in the comfortable real with near 80 temps.

The juicy air returns Saturday and Sunday, with partly sunny skies, a humid mid to upper 80’s (especially Sunday), and the chance of some storms each day.
