NYC Hot Weather Today & Tomorrow

Good morning everyone. Instability in the are is starting to settle down and that will allow some heat to return for today and tomorrow. The forecast is holding strong through the week, and we continue to keep and eye out for prospects of a heatwave or near-heatwave some time between mid-week next week and mid-month.

SATELLITE

Look for some extra sunshine today and drier conditions. With weakening low pressure in New England, we could see the slight chance of an isolated storm, but action will be widely scattered and most places won’t see a thing. Highs today near 90.

Tomorrow we have a slightly better chance of a few storms while humidity increases again. Highs tomorrow near 90 once again.

REGIONAL RADAR

Your holiday weekend forecast is holding, with early morning clouds and PM sun for Saturday and highs in the mid 80’s. On Sunday, we’ll have full sunshine and upper 80’s for highs.

LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY

How hot we go next week remains in question, but we do know that we’ll see lots of upper 80 to near 90 temps at minimum. That doesn’t constitute a heatwave, but 90-95 temps won’t be far away and they’re going to make an attempt to settle in.

My gut feeling tells me that very hot weather does establish itself in the area, the question is when and how long during this 10 day stretch. Right now I’m honing in on next Thursday thru the following Wednesday as far as watching for very hot weather.
