NYC Long Range Outlook

Good afternoon everyone and Happy Father’s Day to those dads out there. We have a gloomy and cool one with terrible BBQ weather, but things will begin o improve late week. We also have some scattered hot days here and there, with the potential for a heatwave towards the end of the month as a strong ridge tries to build.

For now though, we wallow in the 60’s today under cloudy skies and accoutered light rain/drizzle lurking.

WEATHER RADAR

Tomorrow’s a new day, but the clouds stick around and we have highs in the 65-70 range. Look for scattered showers possible as well. Slowly we improve, but clouds continue to be a factor. We’ll have clouds and sun on Tuesday, then clouding up again and the chance of a few showers. Highs will be in the low to mid 70’s.

By Wednesday, we’re back into the 80’s with some clouds and a few showers. Temperatures jump to near 90 for a hot day on Thursday. It’ll also be a humid one with the chance of a PM thunderstorm. Any thunderstorm from Thursday onward, could reach severe limits. Sunshine returns on Friday and we remain very warm with 85-90 degree temps.

Your weekend looks very warm and humid, with sunshine and mid to upper 80’s. By Tuesday or Wednesday next week, we begin to watch closely for the prospect of a heatwave or near-heatwave conditions depending on how strong that ridge is. Temperatures during this period or a least a couple of days, could hit the 95-100 degree mark.
