NYC Long Range Outlook

Good morning everyone. We have a foggy start to the area as a milder boundary of air begins to sweep through the region. Light rain is running well inland and away from the City, but we are socked in until some partial clearing ensues later today. Tomorrow remains the best day of the week, then we’ll have mild and showery conditions approaching. We’ll also keep an eye on midweek next week for something potentially brewing.

SATELLITE

Look for early fog, then cloudy skies. Clouds will begin to break up later in the day with highs in the mid to upper 40’s. Full sunshine returns tomorrow with upper 40’s to near 50 for the best day of the week. Scattered showers creep in on Friday with low 50’s.

WEATHER RADAR

Best chance of rain is Saturday, with on and off rain for most of the day. We’ll have low to mid 50’s, then some scattered showers & 45-50 degree temps on Sunday.

Chillier air moves in to start the workweek next week, then we’ll be keeping a close eye on our next system. This will be a reinforcing shot of cold air that passes by without much of a fuss, but it could get hung up along the Gulf Coast or the return flow of high pressure could help a wave form as another reinforcing shot of cold air drags through the Midwest. Not to get ahead of ourselves, but Gulf lows are warm in nature and hard to get an all-snow event in the Northeast (if it were to come up the coast). We’ll keep an eye on it all and see if anything looks plausible.
