NYC Milder Air Heads In After Today

Good morning everyone. After our annual snow squall event yesterday and cold day today, we get a 3 day reprieve from chilly weather before we turn our focus towards late week. So far, a lot of questions remain for Thur. night/Friday, but it’s leaning towards not an all-snow event for the NYC/Long Island area.

Today is our last cold one for several days, and we’ll see sunshine and mid 30’s today for highs. Lows don’t drop much overnight, which is indicative of milder air coming. Look or lows in the low 30’s tonight.

We go from mid 30’s today to low 50’s tomorrow under full sunshine once again for a pleasant day.

WEATHER RADAR

Clouds increase overnight tomorrow into Tuesday morning, then some rain will move in. We’ll have highs in the mid 50’s. There will be a delay in the colder air moving in, so we’ll be stuck in some sinking air for Wednesday.

Expect breezy conditions, decreasing clouds, and some PM sunshine Wednesday. How much sun will dictate how mild we go, but the potential is there for low to mid 60’s if it works out. If things don’t work out, we should still see 55-60 degree temps for highs.

Our next system begins to creep towards us on Thursday with increasing clouds. Chilly air will work in with highs in the upper 30’s to low 40’s. We’ll be keeping an eye on everything, but the potential is there for some snow changing to mixed precip, then a cold rain. Interior sections of the Northeast could see a decent amount of snow with this moisture-laden system even though it’s not particularly powerful.
