NYC MODERATE RAIN MID WEEK
NYC MODERATE RAIN MID WEEK
NYC MODERATE RAIN MID WEEK – Good evening everyone and welcome back! Yesterday’s snowfall caught a few off-guard, since many stations weren’t covering the possibility of some snow. While I admit, we didn’t get the final amount right in some places, we were one of the only sites discussing the prospect of snow and were only off by 1/4″ to 1 inch in most areas. This is the issue with areas of over-running precipitation, especially in the pattern we are stuck in the past several weeks. They are very hard to predict and sometimes you come out looking like a hero, other times they’re marching on your house with pitchforks and torches. It’s good to be shown a surprise once in a while, as it reminds you how small you are compared to the unpredictability of Mother Nature.
NYC MODERATE RAIN MID WEEK
Anyway, we had a nice day today with the sun shining down to help melt most of anything that felt. It comes with a price tonight though as temps drop into the upper 20’s. With that comes a threat of some black ice developing as puddles and wet roads will freeze, so be careful as you’re getting around a few hours after sundown. Tomorrow, the sun returns again with highs near or just above 40. Clouds will increase Monday night as a warm front associated with another system moves across the central part of the Nation; lows will only drop a few degrees and into the mid 30’s as a result of cloud cover inhibiting radiational cooling. The threat of rain will be with us just before sunrise on Tuesday, with a chance of a steady, cold rain by afternoon, highs near 40, but rising into the night. Another band of rain will come through Tuesday late night, with some patchy dense fog in between the rain drops. Clouds, showers, and some more fog will be with us during the first half of Wednesday, then some partial clearing and highs near 50.
After Wednesday, things are looking temporarily dry and unseasonably mild as of now, with sun and clouds and highs int he upper 40’s to near 50 Thursday through Sunday. We could squeeze out some higher temps depending on how much sun we get each day, but overall we get a reprieve until the next system arrives early next week, which is looking to be another “warm” rainy one.
The prospect of cold air remains for late January and into the first week of February and we’ll discuss this as we get closer. For updates as well as live casts when the weather is active, don’t forget to check out Angry Ben’s Angry Weather on Facebook.
NYC MODERATE RAIN MID WEEK – Satellite shows yet another stretched out system across the Nation, as we get another piece-meal rain event Tuesday into Wednesday and some unseasonably mild temps.
Radar is quiet aside from some showers slipping into lower Ohio and West Virginia. Things will remain quiet until early Tuesday morning.
