NYC More Snow Possible Early Next Week

Good morning everyone. Post-blizzard, we joked about a boring forecast ahead for the rest of the week and it somewhat is. While snow is falling today ahead of a warm front, today’s snow would be a non-story if it were for the 20-30″ that just fell a few days ago. Winter has a firm grip on the region for sure, and March will be coming in like a lion.

SATELLITE

For today, look for snow coming to an end soon west to east. This is ahead of a warm front quickly moving through the Northeast. We’ll have 1-3″ of snow on top of already snow-packed areas, then we’ll see a pause before a few scattered showers grace the area. Highs today in the low 40’s.

WEATHER RADAR

For tomorrow, we’ll have a mix of sun and clouds, with the slight chance of some scattered flurries or snow showers by afternoon. Highs will be in the 35-40 range. Look for more of the same on Friday temp-wise, but add some sunshine and minus the risk of any flakes.

Saturday & Sunday are both relatively winners compared to what we’ve seen; with a mix of sun & clouds with highs 40-45.

To start your workweek next week, more snow is in play as we watch a large swath of overrunning moisture heading through the Ohio River Valley and into the Northeast. It is too soon to tell the exact outcome and where the rain/snow line sets up, but for those who do see all snow, we’re probably looking at a 6-12/8-14″ type snowfall. While we don’t know for sure what this means for the NYC/LI area, we are in that window where we will have to watch closely.
