NYC On & Off Rain Continues Then Brief Cold Blast Fri & Sat

Good morning everyone. More batches of rain come in and out of the area as a brief cold blast sets up for late week and into the start of the weekend. That is the big story with nothing else really going on. We’re continuing to watch for signs of any snowfall, but at this point, we may make it to March 1 with nothing new or hardly anything.

SATELLITE

Expect clouds socked into the area after a morning wave of rain. Most of the energy goes south of us on this one, but it’ll be close enough to keep us in the clouds. Highs today in the upper 40’s to near 50.

REGIONAL RADAR

Tomorrow, we might actually see some sunshine early before the clouds begin to creep back in. We could have a slight chance of a shower come late afternoon/evening, but it’ll be dry for most of the day.

Overnight, enough cold air might stick around to see some wet snowflakes mixed in with the rain to start, but don’t expect anything of consequence; not even slippery roads. Well north of the area and in upper New England, they may see a good round of snow before things mix with rain at times.

LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY

Rain continues tomorrow morning, then partial clearing will ensue. Highs in the upper 40’s to low 50’s will happen early, then you’ll see temps fall quickly in the evening. Lows overnight will be in the low to mid 20’s, setting us up for a cold Friday.

LOCAL RADAR PHILADELPHIA

Friday so far is looking sunny and breezy, with highs in the upper 20’s to low 30’s. Overnight Friday will be the coldest one we’ve had in a couple of months, with lows in the low to mid teens. N&W of the NYC area could see some single digits.

Upper 20’s to low 30’s continue for Saturday, then we’re already on the road to recovery Sunday with sun & clouds; highs in the low to mid 40’s.
