For well upstate NY and New England, today’s cold front will give genesis to a short, compact, and vigorous wave. Cold air will filter in and any rain will change to snow by nightfall. Accumulating snow is expected, especially in the higher elevations and the majority of Maine. The highest peaks may see 4-8/6-12″, while areas closer to the coast such as Augusta & Bangor, may see a 2-4/3-6″ realm accumulation.
