NYC SHOWERS STORMS SLOWLY MAKING SOUTHERN EXIT – Good morning everyone. We got some much needed rain in New York City overnight and this morning, which will slowly be coming to an end as we head into late morning.

Showers and storms continue to head in our direction; however, more stable air is pushing the action further to the south as it slides east. This means over the course of the next several hours, the precip will start slipping to our south and these waves of precip will shut off in our area.

Look for showers and storms to be replaced by clouds and sun (more clouds than sun), and very humid conditions. Most likely, we won’t get out of the mid to upper 80’s unless we see some extra sun, but it’ll be warm nonetheless. Overnight, we have a slight chance of a repeat storm-wise, but it’s much less likely and much more scattered in variety compared to last night.

Tomorrow, the sun is back and we shoot for upper 80’s to low 90’s in most areas. We’ll keep the chance of a thunderstorm in the forecast, but it’s a slight chance and most of the action will be inland.

On Tuesday, precip will be much more significant and widespread with the help of an approaching cold front. Expect upper 80’s to near 90, very humid, and afternoon showers and storms. We’ll be on the lookout for severe weather, but we’ll have to wait and see IF we reach those thresholds and where.

Mid-week we dry and for more comfortable conditions, with lower humidity and mid 80’s (maybe some upper 80’s depending on the final wind profile).
