NYC Taste Of Fall This Weekend

Good morning everyone. Showers along the immediate coast have now slipped to our south and won’t be returning as Sally’s remnants pull away. Hurricane Teddy continues to be a powerful one, with winds peaking at 140mph, now slightly weakened down to 130mph. Models continue to trend slightly more east on each run, and it looks as if Bermuda is in for a slight brushing as opposed to a direct hit. Disturbed weather in the Gulf will form TS Wilfred soon, and we’ll be watching south Texas for some flooding rain and wind.

SATELLITE

For us, we’re making no headlines with things being so quiet here. However, fall air is here, and we have some crisp nights ahead. Clouds stick around for this morning, then maybe some partial clearing. We’ll have to wait and see if we can get some of the smoke out of here also, as wildfires continue to rage out west. Highs today near 70, then upper 40’s overnight. Areas away from the City may see low to mid 40’s.

REGIONAL RADAR

Tomorrow and Sunday we don’t get out of the 60’s under veiled sunshine and breezy conditions. Overnight, lows will again dip into the mid to upper 40’s.

LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY

60’s stick around for Monday, then we’ll begin a slow warmup. Expect upper 60’s to low 70’s Tuesday, then mid 70’s Wednesday, and possibly near 80 on Thursday.

LOCAL RADAR PHILADELPHIA

In the long range we continue to watch for a late September warmup next weekend, but we’ll have to see if it can hold on. Teddy and Wilfred are both players that can set things “off course” even if they don’t come near us.
