NYC Temp Drop & Unsettled Conditions Ahead

Good afternoon everyone. We have some unsettled weather heading our way as a shape cold front arrives tomorrow, and moisture ahead of it rides up the coast. Clouds are here and rain/thunder will arrive tonight, then scattered gusty storms tomorrow. As far as severe weather is concerned, the best chance to see some stronger storms will be to the west of us, but we could still see some thunderstorms contain damaging winds tomorrow afternoon and evening. We’ll also see the risk of some snow mixing in as cold air rushes in and moisture cages behind the front; then maybe some scattered snow showers on Tuesday with very cold air aloft.

For today, clouds are here already and they’ll stay in the picture through tomorrow night. Highs will be near 50 at best, then they’ll drop and rise again overnight as our warm front nears. Moisture riding up the coast will touch off some heavy and embedded rumbles of thunder.

WEATHER RADAR

Tomorrow is looking mostly cloudy, humid, and windy ahead of that cold front. Look for a couple of brief waves of gusty heavy showers and thunderstorms, then possible 2 brief lines of gusty heavier storms during the evening and overnight hours. Highs near 60 will drop through the 40’s, then 30’s overnight as we risk seeing some wintry mix and/or wet snow before things come to an end. We’ll have sun & clouds Tuesday, with breezy conditions and highs 35-40. We could see a few snow showers sneak in, but we’ll have to keep an eye on the radar to see what survives the trip across PA and NJ.

Winds settle down on Wednesday, with more highs in the 35-40 range with AM sun and PM clouds.
