NYC Tropical Storm Elsa Departs Sunshine Returns

Good afternoon everyone! After a wild afternoon yesterday with Elsa-enhanced thunderstorms, and a wild morning with Elsa herself, we are beginning to clear out and clean up. We haven’t gotten the official numbers yet, but it’s safe to say we got blown and pretty wet. Things are smooth sailing from here onward relatively speaking, and we have a decent, typical July stretch ahead.

SATELLITE

Look for clearing skies today and lots of blue patches before clouds increase again later in the afternoon/eve. That is our front pushing through, but it won’t have much with it due to Elsa stealing the show. We’ll still have the chance of a scattered shower or storm, and any storm could pack a punch with the sun working the atmosphere. We’ll have a breezy high in the low to mid 80’s. Any remaining rain in Suffolk should be coming to an end over the next 1-2hrs, and they will get into the sunshine as well.

WEATHER RADAR

Tomorrow is the best day of the weekend with clouds and sun sticking around, mid 80’s, and the slight chance of a PM shower or storm. We’ll increase the moisture a bit for Sunday, and we’ll have a better chance of showers and storms under clouds & sun. We’re not looking at any rainouts here, but just a better chance. Highs Sunday in the mid 80’s again.

Starting off the week, we’ll keep the chance of showers around with mid 80’s on Monday, then sunshine and humidity begin to increase on Tuesday. Mid 80’s will continue, but we may see upper 80’s to near 90 temps by mid to late week.
