Textbook Summertime in NYC Area

Good afternoon everyone. NYC is enjoying a typical summer we used to see in the 1980’s and 90’s with lots of warm & humid air and the risk of PM thunderstorms each day. Look for this pattern to continue over the next couple of weeks, including some hotter conditions dotting the forecast.

SATELLITE

For today, we’ll have more clouds than sun, warm and humid conditions, and highs in the low 80’s. Look for an increase in humidity, moisture, and warmth tomorrow as we go into mid 80’s tomorrow. We’ll also have a better chance of some PM storms. The majority of the action throughout the forecast period will be north and west of NYC, but we could still see some action here.

WEATHER RADAR

Tuesday is even warmer as we go into the upper 80’s to near 90. Look for another chance of PM storms. Wednesday goes for the low 90’s under very humid conditions. We’ll have another slight chance of PM storms.

The same goes for Thursday and Friday with more low 90’s and PM storms possible. Any given storm throughout this period could contain small hail, frequent lightning, strong winds, and torrential rain.
