VERY WARM WEEK PRECEDES LONG NEAR NORMAL STRETCH – Good morning everyone! Late spring has arrived early with beautiful weather today before the heat machine turns on temporarily. We’ll have sunny skies, light westerly winds, and highs 75-80 in most areas today.
Tomorrow, the wind swings around to the southwest, which means very warm temps for areas away from the ocean-facing coast. It’ll be sunny with highs in the mid to upper 80’s, with mid 70’s along the immediate shore. On Thursday, we make a run for 90 to tie or break the 90 degree record set back in 1936. No records will be broken at the coast though as the seabreeze will be in full swing, keeping temps in the mid 70’s to low 80’s. We cool off a bit on Friday as a cooler airmass begins to work it’s way in, but we remain in the low to mid 80’s for one more warm day. Again, the immediate coast will be cooler with temps in the mid 70’s.
Normal temps work their way back in for the weekend, with sunny skies, breezy conditions, and highs near 70. In the long range, warm air will try and fight back, but it looks as of now to fall short and near-normal temps will be with us into the first week of June. We’ll keep an eye on this, as well as the prospect of a system at or near Memorial Day Weekend.
While we enjoy the heat this week, it’s important to remember that early warmth is not an indicator for an abnormally hot summer, it can go either way and one month doesn’t make the next.

VERY WARM WEEK PRECEDES LONG NEAR NORMAL STRETCH – Low pressure departs as a ridge builds into the area, giving us a very warm week. Thunderstorms take a ride over the ridge, but will not be a player in our weather anytime soon.

All is quiet in our area, with thunderstorms riding over the northern edge of high pressure. Everything will stay in Canada and northern NY State.
