AUTUMN GEARS TURNING LATE OCTOBER – Good morning everyone. After stubborn clouds yesterday left us a slightly cooler than expected, but more humid day, there are no doubts for what’s in store for us today.
Dry, windy, and cool conditions will be with us today as temps plunge through the 60’s and into the 50’s after the front passes, and clearing commences. Wind will help hamper the prospect of widespread frost tonight, but we’ll see low 40’s tonight in the NYC area, and 30’s away from the City. In areas N&W of the City and out east, we could see some patchy frost.
Low 60’s continue for tomorrow before the air modifies on Wednesday, and we return to 70. We’ll have low to mid 70’s all the way in to the weekend, with sunny skies Saturday and Sunday.
In the long range, the models are starting to catch up to my thoughts about another shot of warmer air just before Halloween, and ending just before Halloween as well. A vigorous fall airmass will be in play and the chance of a cool, windy Halloween is increasing.
