Beautiful NYC Weather Behind Debby’s Remnants

08/09/24 12:54pm ET

Good afternoon everyone. We’re just 24 hours away from some really nice conditions in much of the Northeast. Debby’s remnants have finally made it into the region after slowly meandering through the Southeast and causing widespread flooding conditions across the Carolinas. While we will deal with some flooding up north, it won’t be on the same level. Our main focus is getting through this for some beautiful weekend weather that lasts into most of the workweek.

In the meantime, we have the possibility of some tornadic storms for interior parts of the Northeast in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and central New York as Debby whips her tail around. Look for torrential rain, damaging winds, and the possibility of some brief tornadoes through this afternoon and evening.

After this, our focus shifts out into parts of Colorado, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Kansas for the risk of some nocturnal/morning severe weather both late overnight tonight into tomorrow morning, and late overnight tomorrow and into Sunday morning. That is in response to some energy coming out of the Rockies and hitting the hot ridge trying to rebuild from the effects of Debby. Look of the risk of very large hail, torrential rain, damaging winds, and a few strong tornadoes.
