COLD AIR ARRIVES QUIET WEEKEND AHEAD
COLD AIR ARRIVES QUIET WEEKEND AHEAD – Good morning everyone. Cold air has arrived on schedule and we have a sunny, crisp start to the day.
Crisp will give way to downright cold, as wind chills fall from the 20’s into the teens, and temps fall from the 30’s into the 20’s by the late evening. We have freeze warnings tonight, with temps going down to the low to mid 20’s in the NYC area, teens possible N&W of NYC and areas of Long Island.
Tomorrow, we barely reach 40° or just fall shy of it, with most areas getting into the upper 30’s, then we climb back into the upper 40’s to near 50 on Sunday. We’ll have a slight chance of rain Sunday night, but the approaching system looks very week and poorly organized.
Any talk of Monday rain has now subsided into more clouds than sun, with seasonable temps and dry. We’re slightly below normal again on Tuesday, but only by a few degrees with highs in the upper 40’s to near 50. Then we return to normal, with highs in the low to mid 50’s for the bulk of the week next week.
We continue to watch the prospect of another shot of unseasonably cold air for around Thanksgiving or Thanksgiving weekend. We’ll have to wait and see if there are any robust systems associated with the cold shot, but it’s all speculation at this point.
