DECENT WEEKEND RAIN BELOW NORMAL TEMPS AHEAD – Good morning everyone and greetings from parts unknown. The NYC area is in the gloom today as we have a system approaching.
We have a damp and cool day ahead, with some morning rain and highs only reaching the mid 40’s. We hang onto below normal temps tomorrow but the sun returns a little bit, peaking through some clouds; highs in the mid to upper 40’s.
Normal temps, sunshine, and low to mid 50’s return for Wednesday and Thursday, with Thursday being the warmer of the two days. On Friday, we slip back into the upper 40’s with the approach of another system and being on the cool side of a warm front.
On Friday night, clouds increase with that system, and we’ll have the chance of a few showers before sunrise Saturday. We’re on the warm side of things on Saturday, but we’ll have the chance of showers, heavy at times, almost all day; highs 55-60. Below normal temps usher back in for Sunday behind the system. It’ll be windy with highs only in the mid 40’s.
Reinforcing shots of cool to cold air remain on the table for the long range, putting our 2nd half of November in the realm of finishing below normal temp-wise. The Great Lakes will have several chances of some heavy, lake effect snow, and the NYC area may have a shot at seeing the first few wet snowflakes as these systems bringing down cold air, depart.
