Fairly Quiet NYC Area But Problems Brewing In Gulf
Good morning everyone. As expected, two areas of energy failed to come to an agreement today, and any shower activity here will be negligible. In fact, it’s even weaker than forecasted, so we may see some blue patches and warmer temps today than previously expected. Meanwhile, we watch the Gulf as Gamma fizzles out, clearing the path for a new area of low pressure that will most likely become Hurricane Delta.
SATELLITE
We have a mix of sun and clouds this morning, with scattered showers out east and a few to our west. We could see some of that shower activity drift our way from the west, but it won’t last long and we should see some blue patches again. Instead of mid 60’s and raw conditions today, expect near 70 temps later on and fairly comfortable.
REGIONAL RADAR
Partly Sunny skies dominate tomorrow and Wednesday, with the slight chance of a shower each day. We’ll be near 70 again tomorrow, then possibly mid 70’s depending on the sunshine on Wednesday.
We clear out completely for Thursday and Friday, but we cool down as well. Look for mid 60’s Thursday under mostly sunny skies, then low 60’s for Friday. Thursday night will be on the very cool side as we dip into the mid to upper 40’s.
LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY
Your Holiday weekend is looking fantastic, with sunny skies and low 70’s Saturday & Sunday; then a possible bonus day on Monday with sunshine and some sun under an easterly flow and slightly cooler.
LOCAL RADAR PHILADELPHIA

In the tropics, Gamma makes room for a tropical depression down in the Caribbean. Unfortunately it’ll take the typical route between the Yucatan and Cuba, then enter the Gulf to move north. Right now the path is uncertain, and the Texas coast to the Florida panhandle need to watch this closely. Enough viable atmosphere and friendly water temps are in the Gulf to help this become Hurricane Delta.
