HOT NYC MONDAY OPPRESSIVE TUESDAY COMFORTABLE WEDNESDAY

HOT NYC MONDAY OPPRESSIVE TUESDAY COMFORTABLE WEDNESDAY – Good morning everyone. It’s going to be a classic hot one in New York City today. Humidity increases as a front nears the area for tomorrow, then we start a mix of periods wavering between seasonable and hot weather.

For today, we’ll hardly have a cloud in the sky, only some haze. The dead air will help boost temps quickly and into the near 90 to lower 90 range. Air quality alerts are up naturally, so take it easy if you’re elderly or have health issues. We’ll have the slight chance of an isolated thunderstorm, but most of the action will be inland.

Tomorrow, our cold front nears but the precip holds off till afternoon. This will help give us one more oppressive one, with Florida-like dew points and upper 80’s to near 90. The high dew points and temps will help fuel some nasty showers and storms and we’ll be on the lookout for some possible severe weather. As of now, the biggest threat will be any wind associated with these potential storms.

Wednesday is looking beautiful as the northerly flow returns with bright sunshine and relatively low humidity. We’ll still be slightly above average, but only by a degree or two. Look for highs in the mid to upper 80’s, but it’ll feel dry and somewhat comfortable. We continue with this trend for the rest of the work week, then turn up the juice over the weekend.

As of this moment, this weekend is looking warm, humid, and unsettled. IF we have more clouds than sun, mid 80’s will rule the scene. Upper 80’s are possible if we squeeze out some more sun.

For the following work week, 90’s may dot the days where we’re not near normal temp-wise. No true heatwaves are on the horizon, but neither will be this big burst of cool air people are spreading around social media. Plainly speaking, summer is here to stay in NYC and when we’re not pushing 90, we’ll be at or near normal.
