JEKYLL HYDE NYC MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND AHEAD – Good morning everyone. As we get closer to our Memorial Day Weekend, some questions do remain. However, certain aspects are coming into focus and we have a better understanding on what to expect, especially for the complicated latter half.

Foggy conditions will give way to partly to mostly sunny skies, highs in the upper 70’s to low 80’s today. We dry out completely for tomorrow, with a low humidity day thanks to a northerly breeze, highs in the upper 70’s to near 80.

To enter our Memorial Day Weekend on Friday, westerlies will help turn up the thermostat a bit. Look for sunny and dry conditions, highs in the mid 80’s. As our front nears on Saturday, we turn up the heat even more, as well as some humidity. Expect a beach day for some (although the water is still cold), with highs near 90, slightly cooler at the shore, but not much.

Things come to an end on Sunday as our slow moving front is either over or past us. This will equate to more clouds than sun, scattered showers, and low to mid 70’s. It won’t be a rainout, but it won’t be a great day for outdoor activities either, especially compared to Saturday.

For Monday, the moisture and the cool air increases. We’re still not looking at a complete rainout, but we’ll have an increased chance of showers and highs in the upper 60’s to low 70’s.

In the long range, look for this pattern to continue in terms of a southerly fetch of tropical moisture, fighting with a maritime push. What this means for us are a few clear and cool days, a few showery and cool days, a few showery and muggy days, and even a few sunny and warm days over the course of the next 10-15 days. It’s a slow moving, stubborn pattern, and we’re going to have to take the forecast in 3 days increments for the best accuracy.
