MUGGY SHOWERY NYC SUNDAY PRECEDES NATE REMNANTS MONDAY

MUGGY SHOWERY NYC SUNDAY PRECEDES NATE REMNANTS MONDAY – Good morning everyone. We’re waking up to a cloudy, muggy, Sunday morning with some scattered gusty showers.

Believe it or not, this is not Nate yet. The rain we are seeing right now is a cold front enhanced by Nate, but it won’t fully make it though as Nate pushes everything back as he moves through late tonight and tomorrow. Muggy conditions will continue today, with scattered showers and storms, highs near 80. However, if we get some peaks of sun, it’s possible that’ll help us break 80 and reach into the low to mid 80’s in some areas.

Tomorrow, periods of gusty showers and storms continue, but more widespread than today. Humidity will continue to make the air heavy as Nate rolls through before clearing out late tomorrow night/very early Tuesday morning; highs tomorrow will be a thick mid to upper 70’s. Northwest winds on Tuesday will help dry things out, but it’ll also help rebound the temps with our local sinking air phenomena. Highs Tuesday will reach the low 80’s and because of that NW wind, we could see those low 80’s all the way to the immediate shore.

Cooler air finally begins to work in on Wednesday, with sunny skies and highs in the low 70’s. Thursday continues to look like the coolest day of this relatively short-lived fall block, with clouds and sun, highs in the mid 60’s. We’re back near 70 for Friday, which is near normal, then spring back into the mid to upper 70’s for Saturday.

For those who like this warmth, I have good news. For those who don’t, well, I’m sorry. It looks as if possible 80’s return for next Sunday and Monday ahead of a decent cold front. After that, we have a short cool-off again somewhere around mid-week next week, but warm air may try and build back in again for the last 1/3 of October. Not sure yet if it’ll make it this way, but warm air builds back into the Midwest late October and it looks as if it goes north enough to possibly transfer over to the east coast.
