New York City Long Range Forecast Into October
Good morning everyone. Clouds and shows continue to stick around as high pressure locks the remnants of Ophelia in the Northeast. Eventually everything will drift south and east as high pressure builds down from Canada, but it’ll be a slow go with more clouds and drizzle lingering for part of tomorrow.
In the long range, things look rather uneventful rain-wise (which is a good thing), but we do have a few swings in temperatures in either direction. Basically, we are merging back into the lane of my original long range from 2 weeks ago, before the tropical activity threw us for a loop (tropical activity that didn’t exist yet.
Speaking of the tropics, we are rather quiet again aside from 1 tropical storm out in the Atlantic that’ll curve northward well east of Bermuda. However, this is the time of year where we need to begin to watch the lower Caribbean for development, plus old fronts and troughs like how Ophelia formed.
SATELLITE
For today, clouds and showers stick around as does the simply raw and depressing conditions. Highs will be in the upper 50’s to low 60’s for the perfect soup day.
Clouds stick around again tomorrow, and we could see some light rain or drizzle. Highs again in the upper 50’s to low 60’s.
WEATHER RADAR
Sunshine finally returns on Wednesday, but we remain on the seasonably cool side. At least it won’t be raining, and we’ll have highs in the mid 60’s.
We’ll have a mix of sun and clouds Thursday and Friday, with the slight chance of some scattered showers on Friday. I’m not really buying into it much, and as of now I think we remain dry or mostly dry. Highs both days in the mid to upper 60’s.
Sunshine returns for the weekend, and if things go right, we could see 2 pleasant 70 degree days.
Our long range continues to show some cool, seasonable, and some warm conditions possible. The opportunity for some warmth comes mid to late next work-week and possibly that following weekend. If everything works out “right”, we could see 75-80 degree conditions (maybe a little warmer) and a brief return of minor-moderate humidity. After that, October will be very October-like as we return to some upper 50’s and 60’s.
