NYC Afternoon Evening Rain Snow Squall Possible Today
Good morning everyone. We’re not done yet with the potential for an afternoon rain squall and/or snow squall today as another spoke of energy comes down from the Great Lakes to reinforce very cold air coming in. After that, we have an unseasonably cold start to the week, then we go mild for Thursday/Friday. Thus is the start to spring, where wild ups and downs in NYC Metro are commonplace.
SATELLITE
We’ll start off with some filtered sun this morning, then clouds will increase as the day goes on. The high res short range shows some scattered rain squalls before a round of snow squalls in the area. Meanwhile, the NAM shows all scattered snow squalls and some of those may be spicy. We’ll keep an eye on the radar to see who gets what and when, and highs will be in the mid 40’s before dropping fast.
Overnight we dip into the 20’s, then struggle in the mid 30’s with full sunshine tomorrow.
WEATHER RADAR
Tuesday and Wednesday improve a little bit, but we are still way below average. Expect sunshine and low 40’s Tuesday, then increase clouds on Wednesday ahead of the milder air with mid to upper 40’s.
Our next system lets its presence be known on Thursday, with clouds, scattered showers, and a humid day in the mid 60’s. We go for mid 60’s again on Friday with some steadier rain possible. We cool off again next weekend, but nothing as extreme. We’ll be slightly below average in the mid 50’s with sunshine.
