NYC Bonus Day Upper 70’s Friday
10/30/24 9:09am ET
Good morning everyone. Very mild air has pushed into the Northeast, with widespread 60’s and 70’s expected for highs across much of the region. In the bigger cities, mid to upper 70’s will take hold, especially tomorrow and Friday.
Across New York City, Philadelphia, and Washington D.C., near 80 or low 80 temps are possible tomorrow. Friday’s bonus day of mild air will come courtesy of extra sunshine due to our cold front drying out before it reaches us; which means less clouds and a lower chance of showers.
That cold front will be responsible for widespread severe weather and heavy shower & thunderstorm activity later this morning through the overnight hours across parts of the Midwest. Areas such as Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, and Oklahoma, will be holding on tight as clusters of storms merge into a formidable line later today. Look for the chance of widespread damaging winds, large hail, frequent lightning, torrential rain, and the risk of a few tornadoes.
Because of this, you can expect the National Weather Service to post severe thunderstorm watches and possibly tornado watches if the activity warrants it. We may also see heavy showers and thunderstorms reach up to Wisconsin, Illinois, and Missouri, then down into Arkansas, Texas, and Louisiana. While the line will become more narrow as it stretches out, we could also see severe thunderstorms in these areas overnight tonight and/or the early morning hours of tomorrow.
Here is your local NYC Metro Forecast –
SATELLITE
Look for sunshine and very mild conditions today in the NYC area. Highs will be in the low to mid 70’s. Tomorrow, we go for 75-80, with the warmest temps likely in downtown Brooklyn, upper Queens, and west of Manhattan near Newark & Jersey City.
WEATHER RADAR
As stated above, our front is very weak by the time it arrives here in Friday. This means more sunshine and a breezy day, with highs in the mid to upper 70’s; cooler at the immediate shore. We’ll have the slight chance of a few passing showers in the afternoon, then we begin to cool off.
Look for sunshine, breezy conditions, and highs near 60 each day for your first weekend in November.
