NYC Coastal System Brush Brings Light Rain

Good morning everyone. We have a system down in the Southeast gaining a little momentum, and as expected, it’ll parallel the coast and brush the area ever-so-gently. Don’t expect anything of significance with this one, and even for New England, this looks like a glancing blow.

Expect AM sun with increasing clouds as the day goes on today. It’ll be seasonable with highs in the mid 40’s. With the cloud cover, we don’t drop much overnight with lows probably near 40. Some light rain may brush the area before sunrise, and if we get brushed, expect the light rain to last into early morning tomorrow.

Light rain may hold onto the Forks for an extended amount of time, but any light rain should be gone by late morning/early afternoon. We may see some blue patches late, and highs will be in the 45-50 range before a breeze develops.

WEATHER RADAR

Thursday we go sunny and chilly with highs near 40, then we modify a bit on Friday. Look for AM sun, then increasing clouds late Friday; highs in the mid to upper 40’s. Light rain will move in overnight, and then we play the AM rain game again for Saturday. Highs Saturday will be in the 45-50 range again.

Sunshine will return on Sunday with mid to upper 40’s.

In the long range, we continue to see nothing big in the crystal ball. That doesn’t mean it can’t happen, but we should remain relatively quiet towards New Year’s.
