NYC COLD CONTINUES LIGHT SNOW CHANCE INCREASES
NYC COLD CONTINUES LIGHT SNOW CHANCE INCREASES – Good morning everyone! Cold air has locked itself into our area with the help of our departing storm, and is refusing to budge.
Today, we’ll have clouds and sun, windy conditions, with a chance of some scattered flurries until late afternoon, highs only in the upper 20’s. Tonight will be brutally cold again as winds continue, with lows in the mid to upper teens. Tomorrow, we break out of the 20’s and into the low 30’s for highs, sun and clouds; winds continue on into tomorrow night for lows in the low to mid 20’s.
Friday will be the nicest day of the bunch as winds finally calm down, sunny skies into the evening, and highs in the low to mid 40’s. Clouds increase Friday night due to a fairly large system approaching the NYC area from the west. With lows in the upper 30’s and the approach of a warm front, some overrunning precip will enter the area, possibly in the form of some light snow or a rain/snow mix. Any frozen precip will become all rain on Saturday, cool and damp, with highs in the low 40’s. Rain departs Saturday, possibly as a very brief period of light snow or another mix; lows in the low 30’s. Sun returns for Sunday and Monday, but unseasonably cold conditions continue to hang on, highs in the low 40’s.
In the long range, active weather continues and there’s no warm air in sight aside from anything system related. Reinforcing shots of unseasonably cool air will continue for at least the next 10-15 days.
