NYC Cold & Quiet Next Three Days
Good morning everyone. We have some morning clouds socked into parts of the Northeast, but we should see some PM sunshine, especially across southeast New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Cold weather is locked in for the next 3 days, then we are in the milder & rainy quadrant of our next system for Saturday & Sunday.
Our big story remains out in the Lower Plains where are watching a new disturbance likely to cause some issues tomorrow afternoon, evening, and overnight. Yesterday we saw some powerful thunderstorms impact parts of east Texas, and we will watch that play out again; except this time we are looking for that action to concentrate a little more to the Northeast.
Look for heavy showers and thunderstorms to begin to develop tomorrow afternoon in northeast Texas, then move north/northeast into Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Missouri. Some of these storms within multiple lines and clusters, could reach severe limits. The biggest risk will be locally damaging winds and hail, but we’ll also see frequent lighting and torrential rain.
That being said, Texas and Louisiana are not completely out of the woods. We’ll be watching closely to see how fast some of these storms develop and where they go. We cannot rule out severe weather developing before storms exit Texas; and we also cannot rule out some severe weather drifting into Louisiana or developing ahead of main batch of energy.
