NYC Cold to Cool Week Ahead With Mild Air Possible Late Month
Good morning everyone. Beautiful mild weather has been replaced with blustery, chilly conditions for this weekend. Cold air dives in to start the week, but we modify fairly quickly back towards the average this time of year. Unlike some of the March’s we’ve seen in the past few years, it’s actually the mild air fighting back harder this time as opposed to the cold air winning out, and we’ll have some opportunities for some comfortable temps ahead.
SATELLITE
Expect sunny skies, breezy conditions, and highs in the 45-50 range both today and tomorrow. While the upper 40’s are near-average this time of year, it’ll feel chilly with that wind and the fact we had 65-70 degree temps the past 2 days.
F5 WEATHER RADARS
The start the week, we go cold and into the mid to upper 30’s for Monday. Clouds will increase on Tuesday as a weakening system approaches. We’ll have the slight chance of a shower with highs in the low 40’s. With cold air aloft, don’t be surprised if that shower has a few wet globs of snow or sleet mixed in, especially in the hilly areas N&W of NYC.
Sunshine returns on Wednesday, and we modify back near normal as highs reach the near 50 realm. Seasonally average temps are expected for the rest of the week.
The following system may give us the opportunity for some mild temps if we find ourselves in the “warm” sector of the boundary. We’ll see how it all pans out, plus a few more opportunities for 65-75 degree weather towards the end of the month and to start April.
Stay tuned.
