NYC Cool Push Begins Overnight

Good afternoon everyone! A cold front is int he process of moving through, giving us a very warm to hot day today, then a cool and breezy weekend. Some heavy storms are in the process of exiting the Hamptons, otherwise the radar looks fairly quiet for now.

We’ll get near 90 in the NYC metro area, especially in areas that didn’t see earlier thunderstorm activity. For those that did out east, it’ll be a harder recovery, but you’ll remain sunny and comfortably warm.

Overnight we drop into the upper 50’s to low 60’s, and the wind will begin to pick up.

WEATHER RADAR

Father’s Day weekend is looking like a cool and breezy one. Nothing outrageous, but definitely a sharp contrast from today. Expect sunshine, breezy conditions, and highs in the low 70’s tomorrow. For Father’s Day itself, sunshine remains as does the breeze, and we will get into the mid 70’s for a perfect day.

The cool air doesn’t last though, and we should be near 80 again to start the week next week. In the long range, I don’t think we’re as cool as earlier models depicted to roundabout the month. In fact, I think we will be around average for the most part, with maybe even a few hot days mixed in. I’ll also be watching that extreme heat in the Midwest to see if it shifts to the east coast to start July. Maybe a little early July heatwave?

We’ll be keeping an eye on it.
