NYC EASTER FORECAST FIRST CALL – Good morning everyone. I hope you had a great Nor’easter-less weekend. Soon we’ll be back into the precession of systems, but we still have a couple of more days to enjoy before we see any rain drops; which is better than snowflakes.
Look for sunny and cool conditions today. That northeast wind will be stubborn to leave, but the March sun should make it kinda of feel warmer, even if it’s just an illusion or you’re getting the greenhouse effect in your car; highs 45-50. We’ll have increasing clouds tomorrow as a piece of the next system heads our way, highs in the upper 40’s to near 50.
On Wednesday, the leading edge of warmer air will try and make it in and with that, we’ll have a slight chance of showers. I feel that most of the energy will go to our north, so don’t look for any rainouts. The warmer air is in for Thursday, but we’ll have more clouds then sun. This will keep temps down, but we should still attain above normal status; look for highs 55-60, possibly slightly warmer if can get some prolonged sun in there.
Rain moves in on Friday associated with a cold front, but I don’t think we’re going to see a full rainout either. Low pressure associated with the front will go well to our north, taking the steadiest precip with it, but we should still get in on some of the action with a quarter to a half inch of rain in spots. Highs will be in the mid to upper 50’s.
The passing front will help bring sunshine to the area this holiday weekend. It’ll be breezy and dry on Saturday, highs 50-55. For your Easter Sunday, it won’t be as creepy as your vintage Easter Bunny costume (I love those things). Look for a light WNW breeze and highs slightly below normal, upper 40’s to near 50 in the burbs and 50-55 in NYC.
