NYC FATHERS DAY 2018 FORECAST PREVIEW – Good morning everyone. We have a cloudy a start to the day, but hopefully things will change as the day wears on. Plus, I give you my first official glimpse a week ahead into Father’s Day weekend for the NYC area.

Clouds continue to hang around, but that nuisance light rain has finally pushed to our south and will continue to do so. Look for morning clouds, then sun and clouds late morning to afternoon. Highs in the upper 60’s to low 70’s with a cool, northeast flow.

We bounce back tomorrow with a typical mid-June day. Expect bright sunshine and highs 75-80 as winds swing around in a more southerly direction. On Wednesday, we notch up the humidity a bit, adding some juice and a weak cold front that could touch off an isolated afternoon storm; highs a more humid upper 70’s to low 80’s. Most of the thunderstorm action should be focused more upstate.

The muggy air gets swept out for Thursday, but sinking air as high pressure settles over us, could give us our warmest day of the week. Sunny skies and NNW winds will help get the area into the mid 80’s for most of the area. A few locales could achieve upper 80’s given the right conditions. We back off a bit temp-wise for Friday, but increase the moisture and humidity. Look for sun and clouds, highs in the upper 70’s to low 80’s.

For Father’s Day weekend, high pressure dukes it out with some weak areas of moisture. As of now I think the high wins out, making way for clouds and sun both Saturday and Sunday, light winds, and highs in the low 80’s.
