NYC Hazy Hot Humid Day Today Relief Late Week
Good morning everyone. We have a hot one ahead of us today and a very warm & thundery one tomorrow, but relief is on the way for a couple of days. Plus, your weekend is looking like a split, with some questionable weather possible on Sunday.
SATELLITE
If you look outside and see some haze, the satellite is picking it up as well. That’s smoke from the wildfires out west, but that won’t impact our day temp-wise. Expect filtered sunshine with hot & humid conditions; highs in the low to mid 90’s.
Heat and humidity stick around tomorrow, but an approaching front will bring some scattered storms and some relief for later in the week. We’ll have highs in the upper 80’s to near 90, then we’ll be watching the radar closely. Not everyone will see thunderstorm action, but individual cells may be intense, with torrential rain, frequent lightning, gusty winds, and hail.

Thursday and Friday are looking really nice, with bright sunshine, lower humidity, and highs in the mid 80’s.
Heat tries to return on Saturday ahead of our next system, but there are questions as to how warm we get. For now, I’m going to go with increasing clouds late, and enough sunshine sunshine to pull off 85-90 for Saturday. Expect more clouds than sun on Sunday, with a chance of some scattered showers. Highs will sink back into the low 80’s depending again on the sunshine factor.
