NYC HOT MONDAY TUESDAY AHEAD

NYC HOT MONDAY TUESDAY AHEAD

Good early morning everyone. I think it’s safe to say that the thoughts of early fall in August are behind us as we’re about to bake under the searing heat & humidity that is typical of a late summer season in the NYC area. The one bright spot however, is that we should see some needed rain as the heat breaks, and we have a fairly comfortable weekend ahead.

Heat advisories are up, and we’re ready to go in terms of what I’ve been talking about the last couple of weeks. Look for partly to mostly sunny skies, the slight chance of an airmass popcorn storm later in the day, and highs a humid low to mid 90’s. Heat indexes today will push 100+, hence the advisories. Take proper precautions for children, the elderly, and for those who suffer from health issues.

Tomorrow will essentially be no different aside from a better chance of storms overnight tomorrow night. For the daytime, expect mostly to partly sunny skies, humid, with highs in the low 90’s.

REGIONAL RADAR

On Wednesday, our temps may drop a bit, but don’t expect any miracle cool-downs here. We still go for upper 80’s to near 90 and humid, and a decent shot at some showers and storms.

Hardly any of our fronts this year have been quick moving and definitive, and this week will be no different. We’ll hang onto mid 80’s on Thursday with maybe a few showers and rumbles as drier air slowly works in, but you’ll have to wait till Friday to fully experience it.

Friday and into the weekend continue to look nice and dry, with near-seasonal temps Friday and Saturday and a nice breeze;  then some extra warmth slowly creeping back in for Sunday, but nothing like today through Wednesday.
