NYC Hot Weather Ends Today With Scattered Severe Weather

Good morning everyone. We’re at the end of our 90º stretch today as a cold front sinks down from the northwest. Behind it, much cooler weather and a showery weekend are on the horizon.

We start out sunny & humid today and we’re almost at 80º already. This will give us enough of a foundation to jump into the 90’s today before our cold front arrives later this afternoon/evening. Look for scattered showers and storms to develop, especially west and north of the City. However, some of those storms could make their way into the NYC/Long Island area. Some of these storms could reach severe limits; with the risk of torrential rain, damaging winds, frequent lighting, and hail.

WEATHER RADAR

We’ll drop into the 55-60º range overnight tonight with some scattered showers, then clouds stick around tomorrow with mid to upper 60’s for your high temps. 60’s remain on Friday with clouds and sun.

Saturday looks showery and raw with highs 55-60º at best. Showers come to an end early Sunday, but we’ll have clouds stocking around with some blue breaks late. That’ll help us get back into the mid 60’s. For Memorial Day, 70’s may return depending on how much sun we get.
