NYC Hot Weather Pays A July 4th Visit

Good afternoon everyone and happy Saturday! We have some interesting weather coming up on both ends of the spectrum; one being the severe weather aspect, the other being some hot weather finally in the NYC area. The timing couldn’t be better either as far as the hot weather, with very warm/hot temps for July 4th and no rain expected. We also have the haze/smoke still around to contend with, so use caution today when getting around.

Look for smoke-veiled sunshine today with highs a little warmer than what you see now. Near 80 temps should rise into the low 80’s and rain holds off. Overnight, expect increasing clouds and the slight chance of a shower or storm. Lows only going down to near 70.

For tomorrow, clouds and fog work their way in as moisture increases. We’ll have the chance of on and off showers and storms, and some of that activity could be on the heavy side. Highs tomorrow a humid near 80.

WEATHER RADAR

Monday will be our biggest threat for severe weather, but the storms should hold off till mid/late afternoon. It’ll be a very warm/hot and humid one, with highs 85-90 in most spots. The largest threat with these storms will be strong winds, frequent lightning, torrential rain, and small hail.

Tuesday we dry out for your 4th of July, and we’ll go with mostly sunny skies with no threat of rain. Highs will be near 90/low 90’s.

On Wednesday, the heat peaks with highs 90-95 and humidity will increase for an uncomfortably hot day. We’ll keep that momentum going for Thursday with low 90’s and continued high humidity, then we watch for our next front on Friday.

Depending on the timing, we could squeeze out another 90 degree day, but heavy storms are expected at some point. As we get closer, we’ll dial in on the timing of those storms. As with Monday, some of these storms could reach severe parameters.
