NYC Humidity Returns Plus Long Range Forecast
Good morning everyone. We have a beautiful 5-7 day stretch here, with some humidity, heat, and thunderstorms in between. Overall, we are looking good and I still think that June will be above average temp-wise when we look back.
SATELLITE
Full sunshine and a steady breeze rules the roost today. It’ll be very dry and very seasonable for this time of year. Average highs are in the upper 70’s to near 80 for NYC right now, and we will be right there for today.
Seasonably average conditions continue tomorrow, with full sunshine, lighter winds, and highs near 80.
WEATHER RADAR
Humidity increases on Friday as do the puffy clouds. You can expect AM sunshine, PM sun and clouds, and highs a humid mid 80’s.
Saturday will be the warmest (or hottest) day of the stretch with that front nearing the area. Look for a humid day, highs in the upper 80’s to near 90, and the chance of afternoon thunderstorms. Some of those may approach severe limits.
Very warm weather holds on for Sunday even though we scale things back a bit and dry out. Look for mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid to upper 80’s.
Next week we remain on the very warm side till at least Monday or Tuesday. Sunshine and mid to upper 80’s will precede the next front, then we cool off briefly before warming up again on or near the last weekend of June. Looking at the long range, the very hot conditions are going to try and build in the Midwest and Ohio Valley. We’ll be watching closely to see if that heat transfers to the East Coast, and if so, how long does it stay.
This is why I believe June will have been above average when we look back. With our hot start to June, seasonably average temps in between, very few below average days, and more very warm/hot conditions on the way, I think we wind up at least 5 degrees above average for the month as a whole; possibly more.
