NYC Juicy Day With Slight Storm Chance
Good morning everyone. Today we turn up the dew points even more and get things really juicy around here. For the most part, the 90’s are over locally aside from a spot here and there, but it’ll feel the same regardless. The end of the week continues to look much cooler, plus the weekend comes more into focus and it shouldn’t be that bad.
SATELLITE
For today, we’ll be deal with AM sun, then a PM mix of sun and clouds. It’ll be humid and very warm with highs in the mid to upper 80’s. Those clouds are in conjunction with an increase in moisture and energy, and we may have a few scattered storms around. The best chance to see any action will be the interior, but we’ll keep an eye on the radar for you.
We increase the energy tomorrow and Wednesday with a better chance of storms. Again, we’ll have to watch the radar to see where they pop up and where they go, but there will be enough juice to push anything near or to severe limits. Highs tomorrow a humid mid 80’s, then we do upper 80’s to near 90 on Wednesday.
The cool-down begins with a warm and drier Thursday under a mix of sun and clouds. We’ll have the slight chance of a shower with highs in the low 80’s. Friday we really drop as extra clouds and a maritime influence creeps in. Highs Friday will be in the 70-75 range at best, with some areas struggling to get out of the 60’s.
For the weekend, that maritime or semi-maritime influence holds on, but my concern about moisture getting hung up along the coast is fading away. We’ll go from an easterly flow to a northerly one, a mix of sun and clouds, with mid 70’s Saturday; then mid to upper 70’s Sunday.
In the long range, I continue to see the heat and humidity returning rather quickly and as early as next week.
