NYC Light Snow Accumulations Expected Tomorrow Night
02/10/25 9:50am EST
Good morning everyone. Our active pattern continues, and as forecasted & discussed, we have more snow on the way for parts of the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast for tomorrow through early Wednesday. We also have another system hot-on-the-heels of that one, and we should see a round of snow changing to rain across parts of the Northeast.
First thing’s first though, and we have a round of heavy snow expected across parts of Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, and New Jersey. In some cases, we’ll see 6″+ of snow, especially across areas of northern Virginia, most of Maryland/Delaware, and extreme southern New Jersey; before we get a period of freezing rain. For this reason, the National Weather Service has issued Winter Storm Watches & Warnings across the areas discussed until midday Wednesday.
In other spots such as northern sections of North Carolina, we could see some snow, sleet, and freezing rain before turning to all rain. On the northern fringe of our band of snow, we’ll see lighter accumulations across New York City and Long Island. A coating to 2″ of snow is likely across this area, with snow shutting off early Wednesday morning.
Here is your local NYC Metro forecast –
SATELLITE
Look for a mix of sun and clouds today and it’ll be a cold one with highs in the mid 30’s. Clouds increase tomorrow after some AM sun, then a chance of some light snow late. We’ll have a better chance of snow overnight tomorrow, and with lows in the 20’s, snow will easily stick.
WEATHER RADAR
Light snow should either be over just before or just after sunrise on Wednesday. Look for a coating to 2″ of snow before ending. However, light snow returns late Wednesday with our next system, but we’re in the “warm” quadrant of that next system. Temps rise overnight Wednesday and we turn snow into a mix of sleet and rain.
Look for a plain cold rain on Thursday for a raw day near 40 degrees. Sunshine returns on Friday with mid 30’s.
