NYC Long Island Shower Pause
Good afternoon everyone. As promised, we have a break in the action as far as steady showers. Is it a nice day out? No, but we remain breezy and mild with a few patches of drizzle and fog.
SATELLITE
While we’re not sure how long this break will last, I’d say we have at minimum a few more hours and the kids just might be able to get some late afternoon Trick or Treating in. Expect the chance of a brief pop-up shower here and there, but we won’t have anything steady for a least a little while.
REGIONAL RADAR
The majority of the steady rain is off to our WNW and sliding in from the Southwest. Most of that action is going just north of our area as patches of steady rain race to the NE; with that entire line of moisture drifting east very slowly.
Eventually the radar will fill in, with another batch of steady rain, then possibly one more break, then the bigger stuff heading in later tonight with that cold front. Again, we could have some severe weather, especially to our west, and we could see some wind gusts here approaching or meeting severe credentials if a gust front forms.
LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY
Everything is long gone tomorrow, with clouds replaced by sun, a stiff gusty wind, and temps 5-8 degrees below average. Look for highs tomorrow in the low to mid 50’s, then low 30’s to upper 40’s at night in NYC proper. Colder temps are likely N&W of NYC and parts of Long Island.
