NYC Long Range Outlook Into Mid April

Good morning everyone. Our latest system that brought some severe weather to the Northeast is now pulling away. Behind it, below average temperatures filter in and hang around a while. This will be the theme for the next two weeks as an active pattern keeps seasonably cool to chilly air locked into the region aside from a day here or there.

For today, we’ll have sun and clouds, some AM showers, then the slight chance of a scattered shower throughout the day. We’ll have highs in the upper 50’s, but we’ll drop late.  It’ll also be blustery, making things feel chilly on the skin.

WEATHER RADAR

Full sunshine returns tomorrow, but cool air is locked in. We’ll have highs in the mid 50’s and dry overall. Clouds roll back in Sunday with a reinforcing shot of cool air. We’ll have the chance of some scattered showers with highs in the mid 50’s again.

From Monday onward, we continue to struggle in the mid to upper 50’s, with the chance of some rain towards mid/late week.

In the long range, fairly vigorous systems continue to trek across the US from west to east. Typically, this would denote a zonal flow which is milder with weaker systems, but our low pressure systems gain momentum as they near the Great Lakes. This will pull down chilly air behind each one, keeping us in a relatively below average pattern temp-wise.
