NYC Long Range Outlook Into Mid August
Good morning everyone. We have another gem today and fairly comfortable weather for the next 5-8 days overall. We’re looking down the road in this segment, and I’m still seeing the possibility of some very hot weather building back after this comfortable stretch.
SATELLITE
Sunshine, mild weather, and a morning breeze hangs on today. We’ll have highs in the upper 70’s to near 80, and that wind will relax as the day goes on.
After morning sunshine, clouds begin to creep in tomorrow afternoon. We’ll have the chance of a few showers or rumbles, and it’ll be slightly more humid. Highs near 80.
WEATHER RADAR
The first 3 days of the workweek are a real winner, with low 80’s throughout. Monday we’ll see the most sunshine, then a mix of sun and clouds on Tuesday and Wednesday. Moisture tries to increase Thursday onward, and this will be the slow transition into a more tropical setup. We’re still looking good temp-wise with low 80’s, but we could see a few showers at any given time each day Thurs through next Sunday.
The moisture is increasing late next week because a Bermuda High will try to build and park itself for the following week. As of now, it looks as if this scenario plays out. However, how hot we get will hang on the position of the high. If we are on the fringe of high pressure out in the Atlantic, we could be on the conveyor belt of moisture. That would increase the chance of clouds and tropical showers/storms, holding temps down in the 80’s, but keeping things very humid. If we’re able to stay away from the outer fringe of the ridge, we could see a fairly long stretch of 90’s; giving us the hottest weather of the season, or at minimum, the longest stretch of hot weather this season.
We’ll keep an eye on it all, and revisit the long-range conversation mid week this week.
